Higgins Lake Aerial Photos of Ice Melt April 2009

By Ken • April 20th, 2009

There is something about viewing Higgins Lake from an airplane. The clear cool waters of the spring ice melt down will always attract me to get on the water for lake trout fishing. Easter Sunday I was in the south basin, the temps were around 65 degrees, sunny, and dead calm. It took about 15 minutes to row out to the drop off. The ice was gone and the solitude was wonderful.  I encourage you to get on the water soon before the summer rush.

Thanks to Gerald Doutt for the aerial tour!
