Most everyone is concerned about what to do with their bank accounts since they are earning the lowest interest rates in decades. The stock market is soft and volatile. The media news spots are asking you to buy gold. What is one to do?

The answer is to have and hold an asset that everyone has need of, a home or vacation getaway! The next question is where should I own real estate? Roscommon County is the logical answer. With US 127 and I 75 meeting at the north end of Roscommon County it’s a two and a half hour drive from just about any of the down state metro areas.

Here is the biggest reason to get into the market now!

  • Interest rates are at an all time low
  • Foreclosures are at an all time high again this month
  • With job losses in Michigan vacation units are coming on the market daily
  • Unsold residential housing units are at all time record highs

Take a look at these statistics:

For Roscommon County from January 1, 2009 to August 23, 2009 the MLS sold 265 residential units. Of the 265 sold, 37 were lakefronts. As of August 23, 2009 residential units listed were 1053. This equals 31 months of unsold inventory. The ideal real estate market should have approximately 6 to 8 months of unsold inventory.

The past 6 weeks have seen a steady increase of buyers entering the market, but it’s not to late for you to get in before interest rates increase, so you can nail down a great deal!  Right now I am seeing some unbelievable deals as sellers are pressured to sell. If you have cash you are really in a great position as CASH is king because sellers will most likely respond to low offers more favorably with a quick closing.
